No Soap, No Shampoo Experiment

This past Monday (the 26th) is the last time I showered with soap.  For the past year, I've been using Dr. Bronners for both my shampoo and body wash, and I've had good results.  On Monday, I used the last bit of my bottle, so when Kelsey and I were out, we stopped by the co-op so I could pick up some more.  Well, I left the stuff that I purchased in her car, so Tuesday when I showered, I decided to try a just-water shower and see how it went, and I've been experimenting with it since then.

So far, I haven't had terrible results.  No one is complaining about me having horrible B.O.  My hair is feeling kind of greasy, but it's not out of control yet.  I'm getting a little bit of a rash in each of my armpits, but I suspect that this will go away as my skin gets used to having its own oil more present.

I'm not sure how long I will continue with the experiment.  It's possible that it gets to a point where Kelsey requests that I put an end to it, which I'll respect.  Dr. Bronners is cheap and environmentally friendly, so I don't mind going back to it.  It's also possible that I make it through the adjustment period and find that I'm just as clean and fresh as if I were using soap.  Time will tell.  I'll post an update every once in a while and document my progress.
